Found within the grounds of the AIB bank within the town. This well is unusual as it also has leaning up against it what is left of an original Sheena Na Gig, possibly removed from a local church.
Situated just outside Flagmount on the left in a farmers field, before you reach White Sands or Cahermurphy Woods. It is unusual as it has two holes, one for each painful leg to be inserted in order to achieve a cure.
Found in Killaloe, also known as Murrough’s Well, very close to the river Shannon. It is understood to be named after Brian Boru’s oldest son, Murragh. Tradition says that this is where he was baptized as a young child. The hexagonal red brick building that now houses this powerful spring was build much later in 1899, and at that time this well supplied the whole town with abundant fresh water, until a modern piped water scheme was eventually created.
